Standard First Aid Course

These courses are available for any member of the general public who has an interest in learning First Aid.

Please note, however, that this course is not acceptable for Health and Safety at Work First Aid.

The course consists of 10 x 2 hours sessions, usually one evening per week, but timings can be arranged to suit individual needs.

Contents of the course:

• Principles and Practice of First Aid
• Disorders of Airway and Breathing
• Wounds and Bleeding
• Heart Disorders
• Burns and Scalds
• Fractures
• Head Injuries
• Stroke
• Fits

At the end of the course there is an oral and practical examination. If successful, a Standard Certificate will be awarded. All certificates are valid for three years.
